New MBLGTACC mobile app puts the program booklet right in your pocket
February 9, 2020
The Midwest Institute for Sexuality and Gender Diversity has developed and launched a new, free app that will allow you and other MBLGTACC attendees using iOS or Android devices to have the conference program right in your pockets. It is the first-ever standalone app for the conference and is tailored specifically to our attendees and conference programming, with room for additional, future customizations that were not possible under previously used third-party apps.
The MBLGTACC app is designed to enhance the conference experience by allowing you to:
- check-in before arriving so that your name badges are ready,
- view the conference schedule and create your own personal schedule,
- receive push notifications if workshops in your personal schedule are canceled or moved,
- view maps of the host campus,
- submit evaluations,
- contact conference and Institute teams directly,
- and more!
The app is one of a number of innovations that the Institute has led on behalf of the conference, and was guided by feedback from past conference attendees and planners. Andy Swick, the developer and the Institute's director of technology, spearheaded the project, and the MBLGTACC 2020 planning team in Kalamazoo, Michigan provided invaluable assistance in rigorously testing the app before launch.
As you download and use the app, please let us know about your experience and if you have any suggestions for future improvements. Happy MBLGTACC!
