As always, all attendees are responsible for arranging and paying for their own food and meals during conference weekend, except where otherwise specifically noted.
The Bernhard Cafe & Market, located inside the Bernhard Center and usually closed on weekends, will open on Saturday, February 15 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST. Their offerings will include: beverages (coffee, bottled beverages and fountain Pepsi), salads, cut fruits, parfaits, sandwiches, packaged goods, bakery, and many choices for snacks.
We will have mindfulness spaces available for those who need a moment to center themselves. Quiet rooms are located in each conference building. These rooms are non-staffed spaces to provide conference attendees with a quiet place to rest and rejuvenate. The rooms will be equipped with yoga mats, coloring books, fidgets, etc. Conference attendees can use these spaces during the times when events are happening in those buildings.
At Western Michigan University all visitors, students, and employees are welcome to use the restrooms that best align with their gender identity. Many people find that unisex, single-stall restrooms still provide the most welcoming and inclusive spaces. The map and screen reader accessible spreadsheet outline all unisex bathroom facilities available.
An advisor social will be held on Friday, February 14 from 7:00-9:00 pm EST. Connect and mingle with other advisors, grad students, and higher ed folks at University Roadhouse (1332 W. Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo MI, 49006). Some drinks and light refreshments provided. Check the MBLGTACC app for updates about shuttle transportation to this event.
Attendees are invited to use Western Michigan University's guest wireless network for the duration of their time on campus.
Connect to WMU Guest in your device's WiFi settings. (When connecting on subsequent days, you can expect to be prompted to re-accept the Terms and Agreement for the first connection each day.)
